The League of Humane Voters of Ohio endorses Subodh Chandra

Ohio citizens have become increasingly frustrated and disappointed that animal cruelty cases are not viewed by the legal system as the serious crimes they are as well as the state's lax enforcement of animal abuse laws. Even if convicted the abusers face little or no punishment or rehabilitation. Justice is seldom served. Violence towards animals has been linked time and time again to violence against people.

SUBODH CHANDRA IS THE PROSECUTOR WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

He has made a commitment to the League of Humane Voters:

"It seems to me that acts of animal cruelty are susceptible more than many types of crimes to be deterred--if law enforcement takes, and punishes, such acts more seriously. For this reason, I support the concept of increased penalties, and as prosecutor would, where appropriate under the facts, seek serious consequences for offenders so that the resulting publicity deters future misconduct by others. As you know, the media, particularly television media, report such stories. My hope is that people inclined to engage in such misconduct would think twice. I would also be prepared to assist you with public-service announcements seeking to deter or ask others to report such misconduct."
